Not many of us enjoy confrontations, but just imagine how freeing it would be if you could fairly easily and elegantly state the difficult, but necessary, things that most people avoid? Formal recruitment is a whirlwind of excitement, tension, stress, and fun. We usually find ourselves having great conversations with a handful of PNM’s – but those great conversations, a lot of times, happen on accident. Honestly, we can have MORE of these conversations during formal recruitment – on purpose. Social Excellence is how. This session breezes past basics skills like making great first impressions, a great handshake, moving beyond awkward silence, and having good conversation. We’ll then take Social Excellence to another level – a deeper level – beyond basic social skills focus on the Four Pillars of Social Excellence: Authenticity, Curiosity, Generosity, and Vulnerability – to a place where we can build meaningful relationships – the type of relationships that are the reason people join sororities. Let’s redefine what conversations should be like within Formal Recruitment together

We believe that good recruitment happens 365 days a year in a very consistent and strategic way. Recruitment happens everyday regardless of whether the chapter and community gives bids one time a year or all year long. Recruitment happens everyday as an opportunity to grow the Panhellenic Community and engage more women in sorority life. Dynamic Recruitment is the process we use to help sorority women conceptualize what good year-round recruitment is. It centers around a Names List – a list of every non-Greek woman they know and builds based on how we add more names to the list (make new friends) and take names off the list (turn our friends into members). This session is centered around teaching this process to the sorority women with examples, ideas, and resources – we tell them exactly what they need to do to grow their membership (chapter and community) in quantity and quality – year-roun

Most contemporary sororities were founded in the 19th century because of very real obstacles for women to achieve a college education. Our founders were often the first women on campus and were bullied by their male peers and largely ignored by campus administrators. They had to fight together fiercely for their right to an education. Yet today, we often take education for granted. It is time to recommit to our founding values and focus on the privilege of learning. We have a unique opportunity to carry forth the legacy of our Founders by helping girls who are being denied the right to an education still today. This session will be action-oriented and will inspire participants, through their sorority councils, to positively impact our world-wide community
